No. You do not need any bookkeeping or accounting knowledge before we start. It does help if you are comfortable with technical terms or basic math, because some parts of the training will make more sense right away, but nothing requires you to be an expert.

You will learn the pieces you need for your business, but not every bookkeeping or accounting concept that exists, because six months is meant to train you on what matters most for your actual workflow.

Own Your Books works whether you plan to take on the bookkeeping yourself or want one team member to learn the process. We teach one person at a time, and the training library makes it easy to pass tasks to others later if your team changes.

There are two parts to this answer. During the program, month four is usually the busiest because that is when you or your team member are learning the bulk of the process with us. Month five is lighter because you begin taking on some of the tasks while we guide you through the rest.

Month six feels more natural because you are doing the work with support as needed. After the program ends, most people spend less time on their bookkeeping because the system is clear, documented, and easy to follow.

You have a full week after the program ends to ask questions as you settle into the workflow.
