Have questions?

We don’t file or prepare taxes. In some cases, we can file 1099s depending on your setup, but we don’t collect W-9s unless we’ve agreed to do so.

As your small business accountant, we keep your financials clean, organized, and ready for your CPA or tax accountant. We’ll work directly with them so tax time is simple, accurate, and stress-free.

It depends on your business and how much accounting and bookkeeping support you need. You’ll get a clear proposal with no surprise fees. If the work changes, the price will too, and we’ll always talk about it first.

Yes. Before starting ongoing work, I require a diagnostic review of your QuickBooks Online file. This allows me to assess what’s complete, what needs repair, and what level of support makes sense for your business before moving forward.

The diagnostic review is $350. If we decide to work together, that amount is credited toward your Monthly Books, Clean Slate, or Own Your Books service.

This step ensures your proposal is accurate, expectations are clear, and we start with a plan that actually fits your business.

No. The first month is usually the busiest because we review your financial system and get everything organized.

By month two, things start running smoother. We fix the big issues, answer your questions, and take more off your plate so your accounting feels steady instead of overwhelming.

Yes. If your current bookkeeping isn’t giving you what you need, we can step in.

As your small business accountant, we can take over fully or build a cleaner system your team can manage. We make the transition smooth and handle what comes next so nothing gets lost or missed.

We only work with QuickBooks Online. If you’re using a different program, you’ll need to switch to QuickBooks Online before we start.

Christine is a QuickBooks Online Advanced ProAdvisor, which means she’s trained at the highest level and focuses only on this platform. This helps you get faster answers, better support, and a financial system that stays accurate as the software updates.

We don’t provide full software training unless you’re in a training program, but if you are, we’ll show you and your team how to use the parts that matter. If you’re a monthly accounting client, we’re happy to answer simple questions, but full training isn’t included.

No. We don’t force you into someone else’s system. We improve or rebuild your accounting and bookkeeping around how your business already works.

Any changes we suggest are meant to save time, increase accuracy, and make things easier for everyone.

Your information is handled through secure tools. You’ll have access to a protected client portal where you can upload receipts, send documents, and ask questions.

Email is available too, but the portal is safer. If we ever need login details, they’re stored in a secure password manager with strong, randomly generated passwords.

If one of our secure tools ever has a breach, we’ll notify you right away and ask you to update your passwords, just to be safe.

Yes. To keep your small business accounting accurate, we need full and timely information. You can send receipts through the secure client portal or by email, whichever is easier for you.

We’ll tell you exactly what to send and when. Staying involved in this part keeps everything clean and makes the whole process smoother for both of us.

As your business grows, your accounting needs will change too. When that happens, we’ll review your services and look at what needs to be updated.

Even small changes in your operations can affect the work involved. If your service level or pricing needs to change, we’ll talk through everything with you first so there are no surprises.

Yes. Being the right fit matters. During your setup, you’ll see how we work and whether it aligns with what you need.

If it isn’t the right match, we’ll talk about next steps and help make the transition smooth and clear.

If you’re a monthly accounting and bookkeeping client:
You can stop services at any time with 30 days’ written notice. We’ll finish the current month’s work, close out anything already in progress, and help you transition if you need it.

If you hired us for a cleanup project:
Cleanup work is a one-time project, and the timeline depends on two things, what we receive from you and the level of work your books need. Since the project begins as soon as we start reviewing and organizing your financials, these services aren’t refundable, unless we’re unable to complete the work for reasons on our end.

If you’re in the Own Your Books six-month training program:
This program is a set commitment, and refunds aren’t offered once we begin. If you decide during the program that you want to move into monthly bookkeeping instead, we can apply the unused portion of your program payment toward your monthly service. This way you don’t lose what you’ve already invested, and the switch is smooth.

If you’re signed up for monthly small business accounting support, you’ll get updated financial reports every month. These reports cover the month before, since we need full bank statements to make sure everything is accurate.

If you need extra reports to help you run your business, let us know what you’re looking for and we will see if it can be added to your plan.

We don’t offer audit support, but your books will be clean, organized, and backed up with the documents your CPA or tax preparer will need. That way they can respond quickly and correctly if an audit ever happens.

Yes. If your books are behind or messy, we’ll get them cleaned up before we start regular monthly support or training.

You’ll get a clear plan and price ahead of time. If we find more issues than expected once we begin, we’ll talk through the next steps before doing additional work, and the price may need to be adjusted.

Yes. We offer sales tax help on a case-by-case basis, and we handle all sales tax filings only through Avalara.

If you’re approved for sales tax support, you’ll cover the Avalara subscription, and we’ll maintain the numbers that flow into your Avalara account so everything stays accurate.

We don’t file sales tax directly through state systems anymore, and we don’t handle new sales tax registrations or give tax advice.

We run payroll only through Gusto, where we’re certified. That lets us support you fully, keep up with updates, and fix issues fast. We don’t offer HR services, but we can recommend trusted consultants if you need them.

If you use another payroll tool, we’ll make sure the payroll numbers are recorded correctly in QuickBooks Online so your small business accounting stays accurate, but we won’t run payroll on other platforms.

We help service based small businesses in many different fields. We’re especially experienced with independent coffee shops, and we understand the financial pace and structure they need.

No matter your industry, our monthly bookkeeping and small business accounting will be shaped around how your business works.

Yes. We use an agreement called an engagement letter. It outlines the work we’re doing, your responsibilities, and the price.

These agreements protect both sides and keep everything clear, so your accounting and bookkeeping start off organized from the beginning.

Yes. If you want to keep your books in house, we’ll set up your QuickBooks Online accounting and trains one person on your team so they can run it confidently.

You’ll get a process that fits your business, plus support while you put it into place. This works well for service based businesses that want to stay hands-on but still need reliable systems.

Book a call to get started. You’ll answer a few short questions so I can understand your business before we meet. During the call, we’ll talk through your needs and how your bookkeeping and accounting are set up now.

If it looks like we’re a good fit to work together, the next step is a diagnostic review so I can confirm exactly what your books need. From there, you’ll receive a clear proposal and a plan so you know what comes next.

We work with a limited number of small businesses so we can be thorough, responsive, and consistent. That means we don’t rush through your books or treat your accounting like a checklist.

Our focus is accurate records, clear communication, and systems that actually hold up over time. We document decisions, ask questions when something doesn’t add up, and make sure your numbers reflect what’s really happening in your business.

If you’re looking for the cheapest option or want everything handled without any involvement, we may not be the right fit. If you want reliable small business accounting and a bookkeeper who takes your numbers seriously, that’s where Folio does its best work.
